PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN

Dentistry has seen many technological advancements over the past few years and is continuing toward this path. Especially with dental surgery, PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is changing the recovery period for all patients.

WHAT IS PLATELET RICH FIBRIN?

Platelet-rich fibrin is an essential element found in human blood that is rich in platelets and growth properties. The active platelets allow for the surgical site to heal at a much quicker rate than traditional surgery methods.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your blood will be extracted and reintroduced in the body during a dental surgery procedure. The blood will be placed into a centrifuge, which is a machine that separates the blood and extracts PRF accordingly.

During the procedure, we will reintroduce PRF into the surgical site in order to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. As a result, the platelets will aid your body’s ability to heal faster at the surgical site.
